About Camilla Mary

I'm a highly experienced Sales Manager, who moved from the corporate field, to run our incredibly successful family business in the Picture Framing industry for over seven years . I'm creative and artistic with a love for elocution and outstanding and advanced vocabulary.
I love challenges and overcoming unusually tricky situations by brainstorming and thinking of alternative methods to ensure success.
I'm passionate about people from all walks of life, with interesting stories and diverse backgrounds.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is based on the CELTA training module. The lessons are structured as follows:
Reading, Writing, Listening
Vocabulary, pronunciation (including the phonic rules) and speech
Grammar and context
I base my lessons on up to date situations, the likes and dislikes of the students as well as day to day living experiences for example our current COVID Climate and how we are all affected by it as individuals and humans.
I've found that music is an amazing tool which can be highly beneficial and has been thoroughly enjoyed by all of my students in previous lessons. It also encourages the students of different ages both young adults to the more mature individuals to interact without inhibitions and creates helpful bonds whilst breaking down unseen barriers.
Humour is also a fantastic tool and I allow my students to sometimes just be silly and laugh when appropriate and without embarrassment. I motivate my students with words of encouragement and to leave all their insecurities at the door. We laugh and have fun and I love seeing my students enjoy their time in the lessons whilst leaving with value and excited and itching to return for more. I try to provide insight and a deeper understanding of this magnificent language of ours.
I approach each topic with enthusiasm and an open mind. Due to our enormously diverse population in South Africa, and across the globe, it's in everyone's best interest not to let the lessons become too personal. I avoid sensitive topics and subjects because this causes discomfort and unease which is in no way objective or beneficial to anyone involved.
