About Sasha

I am an Oxford English Language and Literature graduate with a high 2.1 and research interests spanning from modern American literature to print culture in Shakespeare.

I have two year's experience tutoring English, including IB and GCSE students, and I am also an experienced mentor for the Oxford application process. My students have improved in both ability and academic confidence.

About the lesson

I believe in identifying key areas of weakness (such as exam technique, subject understanding, etc.) and basing teaching around this, rather than a prescriptive approach. I am happy to work with any student from 11+ to first-year undergraduates, and I am equally adept in working with students that are excelling and simply need an extra push, students who are struggling and may need extra guidance, or anybody in-between.

I aim not only to help students with their weaknesses, but also to foster a genuine interest and appreciation for the subject. This means that alongside studying the curriculum, I will sometimes go beyond what is required of them by their qualification, and help them find areas of genuine interest where they can build their broader skill and ability,

Alongside tutoring focused around exams and general ability, I also offer support for those looking to apply for the Oxford English Language and Literature degree. I have spent several years helping students with the admissions process, and can bring this expertise and knowledge to helping students with their personal statements, entrance exam preparation, and interview preparation.
