About Lucy
I am an experienced and friendly tutor with four years` experience and extensive proof of success, and I would love to help you with your tutoring needs.
I`m a final year DPhil student at the University of Oxford, and I`ve been tutoring stude English since August 2016. In that time, I`ve taught well over fifty students, and have helped all of them raise their grade a minimum of one grade boundary.

I make it my goal to ensure a student`s confidence and skills improve, as the two are intrinsically linked. I`m happy to read essays and mark them with extensive feedback. I find that many students need help with structuring their essays, and I have a tried-and-tested method for improving their essay writing, beginning with defining the terms of the question, thinking about establishing criteria for judgement, and moving through the rest of the steps for a top-quality essay. I`m also familiar with the majority of the different exam boards, and work on students` understanding of the literary material, before moving onto developing their skills of literary analysis.
I`m experienced with teaching online, as I`ve been doing it since 2017, and I`m extremely flexible on timings.
