About Laura
I have been tutoring for 8 years, working with students of all ages to help them achieve the results they work so hard for! I firmly believe that one of the main reasons that students struggle academically is a lack of confidence leading to lack of enjoyment, and so I focus on eliminating both. Moreover, as children are under increasing pressure to perform well for entrance into school and then university, I always aim for my sessions to be an antidote to what can be a stressful time at school.
I am taking a career break, having qualified as a solicitor. Prior to this I worked for 2 years as a tutor for 2 girls aged 8 and 11 in all their academic subjects, helping the elder through her 11+ last year to gain entry to every school she applied for, including Latymer Upper and Francis Holland Regents Park. My sessions support the girls' learning at school, focussing on further practice and development of their curriculum.
I have particular experience tutoring my degree subject, Classics. I have tutored students in Latin at all levels up to A2, and all my students have gone on to gain As or A*s in their exams. I am also able to tutor Ancient Greek to the same standard. I can also assist students at university level.
I have tutored all subjects to 11+ standard, and I have also tutored History, English Language and Literature, and Religious Studies to GCSE standard.
