About Nicholas
My time at King’s College London Mathematics School shaped how I think about education. I saw how much difference the right environment, encouragement and style of explanation can make to a student’s confidence. That experience motivated me to begin tutoring and to help other students discover the same enjoyment in mathematics.
What I most enjoy about teaching is making difficult problems feel approachable and exciting. I try to bring energy and curiosity to each lesson, helping students see mathematics not simply as a collection of methods to memorise, but as a subject in which ideas connect and challenging problems can be genuinely satisfying to solve. Alongside improving grades and exam technique, I want my students to become more confident, independent problem-solvers.

Excellence in mathematics comes from three things: diligence, clarity and intuition. My lessons are designed to develop all three through focused practice and careful discussion.
We will work through past-paper and problem-solving questions together. Rather than simply giving you the answer, I will provide targeted hints, identify gaps in your knowledge and help you develop efficient, independent ways of thinking. Each lesson will be tailored to your current level, goals and exam timetable.
Lessons typically last 60 to 90 minutes. During the session, we will explore the most challenging questions in depth, and any remaining work can be completed independently as homework. I can also provide feedback on written solutions and help you improve your exam technique, timing and mathematical communication.
I am an undergraduate studying Mathematics at the University of Oxford, with three years of tutoring experience. I have helped more than five A-level students achieve A or A* grades in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. I have also supported two students with MAT preparation and Oxford Mathematics interviews, both of whom received offers.
