About Raphael

Hi I'm Raphael. I'm currently completing a Master's in Economics at the University of Oxford, having previously earned a First in PPE from Exeter University with a Dean's Commendation. Over the past four years, I've worked with students across A-level and university level, helping them improve their essays, refine their arguments, and approach complex ideas with confidence.

I specialise in academic writing for Economics, Politics and Philosophy, with a particular focus on essays and dissertations. I achieved a mark of 83% in my undergraduate Economics dissertation, placing me in the top 2% of students. Across my degree, I consistently scored between 70–85% in essays - and have written and edited hundreds throughout my studies.

My approach is practical, rigorous, and tailored to each student’s needs - whether you're trying to secure a top grade on a paper, strengthen your writing skills, or build confidence in your ideas. I can also support students preparing for Oxbridge or other top-tier UK university applications.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently — and I believe that with the right support, anyone can make great progress.

I take time to understand where you are starting from and what you want to achieve. Together, we’ll set clear goals and work step by step towards them, at a pace that suits you.

For GCSE and A-Level students, I focus on mastering the syllabus, understanding how to tackle exam questions, and building the confidence to perform at your best.

For dissertation support, I offer help with structuring your ideas, developing arguments, refining your writing, and approaching your project with clarity and confidence.

For language learners (French, English), lessons combine structured grammar and vocabulary work with lots of conversation practice to help you feel comfortable speaking and understanding the language.

Above all, my aim is to make each lesson enjoyable, engaging, and tailored to help you succeed — whether that means boosting your grades, building confidence, or mastering new skills.
