About Tegan
Hi, I’m Tegan, a 21-year-old pianist with 14 years of playing experience. I hold ABRSM Grades 1–8, all at Distinction, as well as a DipABRSM in Piano Performance. During my time studying at the University of Oxford, I was also awarded a Casberd Scholarship.
I have experience performing across a wide range of styles, including classical, jazz, rock, and pop. Alongside this, I have a background in singer-songwriter work and was honoured to receive the Kendrew Songwriting Prize at Oxford University in 2025.
I’m passionate about all kinds of music, from classical to contemporary, and I enjoy helping pianists of all ages and abilities develop their skills in the styles they’re most interested in. My teaching focuses on building confidence, creativity, and enjoyment at the piano.
I believe music should feel engaging and rewarding rather than stressful, so I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students can explore, grow, and achieve their personal goals at their own pace.

Lessons are typically 30 minutes to 1 hour, with fees ranging from £15-30.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s musical goals - whether that’s preparing for ABRSM exams 1-8 (scales, sight-reading, and set pieces), building strong technical skills, or simply learning piano for fun.
I also love to teach pop songs and repertoire chosen by the students to help them explore their favourite artists, styles and genres.
I enjoy working across a wide range of styles and abilities, and my aim is always to make learning the piano engaging, relaxed, and something to look forward to rather than feel like work.
