About Weza

I am an Oxford University graduate with a First-Class degree in History and Modern Languages (French), and an experienced tutor with over three years of teaching experience. Throughout my studies, I developed a strong academic background in both English and French, with particular strengths in literature, essay writing, textual analysis and critical thinking.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, encouraging and highly personalised. I maintain high standards while creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas and developing their confidence. I believe that strong results come from genuinely understanding a subject rather than simply memorising information.

I have worked with students of different ages and abilities, adapting my teaching to suit their individual needs and goals. Whether you are looking to improve your grades, strengthen your essay writing, prepare for exams, or simply become more confident in discussing literature, I will tailor our lessons to help you make clear and measurable progress.

I particularly enjoy helping students discover that English Literature is much more than finding the "right" interpretation. My aim is to help you develop the ability to form original and persuasive arguments, analyse language and literary techniques, engage critically with texts and express your ideas with clarity and confidence.

About the lesson

My lessons are relaxed, engaging and completely tailored to each student. I focus on developing both subject knowledge and the analytical skills needed to achieve excellent results, while making sure students feel confident and comfortable expressing their ideas.

Depending on your level and goals, lessons can include:

1. Textual analysis — exploring language, structure, literary techniques, themes and characterisation in depth.
2. Essay writing — learning how to construct strong arguments, integrate evidence effectively and write clear, sophisticated essays.
3. Exam preparation — working through past-paper questions, developing exam technique and learning how to approach different question types.
4. Close reading — developing the ability to identify and analyse the details that can turn a good response into an excellent one.
5. Personalised feedback — reviewing essays, written work, and past papers together and identifying practical ways to improve.
6. Revision and content support — consolidating key texts, themes, characters, quotations and contextual information.
7. Confidence building — encouraging students to develop their own interpretations and express their ideas clearly and independently.

I teach English Language and Literature at all levels, from students looking to build their confidence and strengthen their foundations to those aiming for the highest grades at GCSE, A Level and IB.
