About Georgia

ABOUT ME:
I studied my undergraduate in Psychology and Philosophy at University of Oxford and am now doing a MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at University College London.

Having gone to an international school in Switzerland, I completed the International Baccalaureate rather than A-levels. I studied HL Psychology (7/7), HL English Literature (7/7), HL Theatre (7/7), HL French (5/7), SL Biology (7/7) and SL Maths (7/7). Before moving to Switzerland I lived in Manchester and so although I did not actually take A-levels I still know the system well, having begun preparing to take my GCSE's before leaving.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
My previous experience with tutoring includes:
- tutoring at International Baccalaureate Higher-level
Psychology (x4 students)
- tutoring A-level Psychology (x3 students)
- tutoring Psychology at first year undergraduate level
- help with personal statements including Oxbrdige admission with 2 successful students so far
- internship application help
- tutoring year 7 and year 9 maths

About the lesson

MY LESSONS:
I am a friendly and patient person and I belive that this is reflected in my teaching style. I aspire to make sure that my pupils feel at ease and supported in my lessons so that they are confident to have a go at answering all questions, even if they are unsure of the correct answer.

In order to ensure this my first few lessons will largely focus on getting to know my pupil and discovering their strengths and weaknesses in their subject area. This will be done by having them go through past papers whilst I observe to see their understanding. Once a few areas of weakness have been uncovered, we will spend time breaking down the content of the area to consolidate knowledge and build up confidence.

My lessons are always highly interactive as the best way to learn is to try for yourself. I also know that every pupil is different and therefore my lessons will be tailored to each individual pupil's needs and ways of learning.
