About Shoaib
I’m a recent Chemistry graduate from the University of Manchester, where I earned a 2:1 degree. I'm currently preparing to begin my PGCE next year and am passionate about helping students navigate their studies with confidence and ease.
Having experienced the pressures of GCSEs and A-Levels firsthand, I understand how overwhelming they can be. My goal is to support students in achieving academic success—particularly in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry—by making learning as accessible and stress-free as possible.
Coming from a disadvantaged and academically under-resourced background, I’ve overcome numerous challenges to achieve top grades in GCSE Maths and Science, A-Level Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, and ultimately my degree from a prestigious Russell Group university. I don’t want others to struggle the way I did, and this drives my passion for teaching and mentoring students.
I’m committed to helping students overcome their own obstacles, build confidence, and reach their full academic potential. Whether you're struggling or simply looking to excel, I’m here to inspire, motivate, and guide you every step of the way.

My teaching approach is centered around active learning, as I believe that real understanding comes from engaging with the material—not just passively listening. In our first lesson, we’ll begin with a relaxed chat so I can get to know you, your goals, and how you feel about the subject. We'll then go over the course content and learning outcomes together to identify your strengths and pinpoint the areas you're finding challenging.
From there, I’ll tailor each lesson to your needs, offering clear explanations of tricky concepts, targeted practice questions, and personalised support to build your confidence. I aim to make lessons interactive, supportive, and focused on deep, meaningful understanding—not just memorising facts. I’ll also help you develop strong exam techniques, so you can apply your knowledge effectively and aim for those top grades.
