About Kian

My name is Kian, and I am a third-year dental student at the University of Birmingham. I achieved an A* in Biology, an A in Chemistry, an A in Geography, and an A in my Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). These results reflect not only my academic ability but also my determination, time management, and research skills—all of which I now use to guide students towards achieving their own goals. One of the main reasons I tutor is because I want to help students achieve their desired results and open doors to future opportunities, whether that’s moving into sixth form, excelling at A-level, or securing a place at their university of choice. Having gone through this journey myself, I understand the importance of strong grades and good exam technique, and I am committed to giving my students the best possible chance of success. Through my dental training, I have gained excellent communication skills, patience, and adaptability. I know how to break down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps and create a supportive environment where students feel confident and motivated. My lessons are always tailored to individual learning styles, ensuring that every student makes steady progress and feels empowered to reach their potential. I am reliable, approachable, and dedicated to helping my students achieve results they can be proud of.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is clear, structured, and fully tailored to each student’s needs. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their strengths—whether that’s through detailed explanations, visual aids, interactive discussions, or step-by-step problem-solving. At the beginning of each session, I like to use a short warm-up task to recap previous material and build confidence before moving on to new content. I also include regular knowledge checks and mini-tests to track progress, identify gaps, and consolidate learning effectively. Alongside subject knowledge, I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, showing students how to approach questions strategically and maximise marks under time pressure. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but I can adapt the length depending on the student’s needs and attention span. My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-level students in Biology, Chemistry, and Geography, whether the goal is to boost grades, strengthen exam performance, or build long-term confidence. As a third-year Dental Student at the University of Birmingham, I bring both academic excellence and strong communication skills to my teaching. Having achieved an A* in Biology, an A in Chemistry, and an A in Geography at A-level, I understand exactly what it takes to succeed in these subjects. Above all, I aim to create a positive, motivating learning environment where students feel supported, confident, and inspired to reach their full potential.
