About Liyah
Hello! My name is Liyah, and I’m a dedicated and experienced math tutor with a strong academic background in engineering. As a math tutor, my approach is centered around building confidence and true understanding—not just memorization. I tailor each lesson to match the student’s learning style, whether they’re a visual, auditory, or hands-on learner. I believe in breaking complex concepts into simple, relatable steps, using real-world examples whenever possible to make math feel relevant and accessible.
A typical lesson with me begins with a quick review of previously covered material to reinforce retention. Then we’ll dive into the day’s topic, starting with foundational theory before moving on to guided practice. I always include space for questions and make sure students are actively solving problems throughout. We end with a short recap and personalized tips for continued improvement or homework support.
What sets me apart is my patience, adaptability, and focus on empowering students to enjoy learning. As an engineering student with strong academic training in math, I understand what’s expected in both school and exam settings—and how to make students feel prepared and motivated.
