About Sheni
Hi, I am Sheni! I am a calm, friendly, and creative person who genuinely enjoys working with children and supporting their growth in fun and meaningful ways. Ever since I was young, I’ve had a natural connection with kids, playing with my neighbors' little ones, or finding simple ways to explain tricky things so they could understand. I come from a Sri Lankan background, and I love bringing a sense of warmth, community, and cultural awareness into everything I do. I am currently studying a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, which has taught me so much about how children learn, communicate, and build confidence. I especially enjoy incorporating storytelling, arts and crafts, and imaginative play into my sessions because I believe children learn best when they’re having fun. My goal is always to create a space where children feel safe, supported, and proud of their progress, whether we're working through school topics or just building their confidence step by step. I value kindness, patience, and the joy of watching kids discover what they’re capable of.

Hi, I'm Sheni! As an English tutor, I aim to make learning the language fun, engaging, and meaningful for young learners. I create a warm, supportive environment where children feel encouraged to express themselves with every session.
My approach combines clear explanations with interactive conversations about the subject matter. I love using games, storytelling, hands-on activities, and themed practice work to bring English to life. My prior experience in drama is also a skill I intend to put to use. Whether we are working on reading, writing, speaking, or spelling, I will ensure the content is relatable and enjoyable for each child.
Each lesson would run for at least 40 minutes, giving us plenty of time to explore concepts, ask questions, and get in lots of practice, without it ever feeling overwhelming. Every session is designed to suit the child’s level, interests, and learning style.
I have hands-on experience tutoring primary-aged children and preschoolers, including younger students from my high school days and children in my local community. I’m also currently studying for a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, which gives me a deeper understanding of how to support children’s learning and development in fun and age-appropriate ways.
My English lessons are ideal for:
- Preschoolers starting to build early literacy skills
- Primary school students needing support with reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and comprehension
- Children who benefit from a friendly, patient, and creative tutor who makes learning English enjoyable
