About Tristen

I’m Tristen Alan, and my favorite thing to play and write is soul folk. I believe music is a powerful storyteller, and I use my instruments to convey emotions and experiences that resonate deeply with listeners. I’ve been playing guitar for over 6 years and teaching for the past 3, sharing my passion with others and helping them find their musical voice. I’m honored to have earned a brick in the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, a testament to my dedication. More recently, I had the incredible pleasure of performing for Stevie Wonder, an unforgettable experience that fuels my love for music even more. Through every strum and lyric, I strive to create a connection that transcends words.

About the lesson

Are you ready to strum your way to greatness? I’m Tristen Alan, a passionate guitar teacher with over 6 years of experience, based in sunny Los Angeles. With roots from the South, I’ve learned from phenomenal teachers and now specialize in blues, folk, country, and oldies.

My unique teaching method combines technique, theory, and creativity, ensuring each lesson is interactive and tailored to your goals. A typical session starts with warm-ups, followed by exploring your favorite genres, and ends with a fun jam session. I create a relaxed environment where mistakes are just stepping stones to growth, making lessons suitable for all ages and skill levels—from beginners to intermediate players.
