About Dwight

Hi! I'm Dwight, an undergraduate student from Mindanao State University- Iligan City with 4 years of experience playing guitar.

I've been passionate about guitar since 2022, and over the years I've developed my skills in acoustic guitar/electric guitar. I particularly enjoy playing and learning Christian songs.

My goal as a tutor is to make learning guitar simple, practical, and enjoyable. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons according to your current ability, learning pace, and personal goals.

Whether you're completely new to guitar, learning your first songs, improving your technique, or looking to become more confident with your playing, I'll guide you step by step and make sure you understand each lesson before moving forward.

I would describe my teaching style as patient, friendly and encouraging. I believe that making mistakes is a natural part of learning, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and practicing at their own pace.

About the lesson

My teaching approach

I believe learning guitar should be practical, enjoyable, and focused on helping you play the music you actually enjoy. I adjust my lessons depending on your current skill level, goals, and preferred style of music.

My teaching method

I focus on hands-on learning rather than overwhelming students with theory. We can work on chords, strumming, fingerstyle, scales, basic music theory, rhythm, and playing complete songs. I explain techniques step-by-step and give simple exercises that you can practice between lessons.

A typical lesson

Quick review of what you learned previously
Warm-up and technique exercises
Introduction to a new chord, technique, or concept
Practice through a song or musical example
Corrections and tips to improve your playing
Practice exercises or goals for the next lesson

What sets me apart

I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while learning. Instead of using the same lesson for everyone, I can adapt the pace and exercises based on your needs. My goal is not only to teach you how to play guitar, but to help you become confident enough to learn and play songs on your own.
