About Shameen
Hello! My name is Shameen, and I’m a passionate and patient tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa. I’ve spent years helping students strengthen their understanding in STEM subjects and Religion/Philosophy, blending scientific knowledge with critical thinking and ethical reflection. My goal as a tutor is to make learning both meaningful and approachable. I take pride in creating a calm, encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions and exploring new ideas. Whether it’s mastering complex biological systems, understanding chemistry concepts, or diving into philosophical discussions, I tailor my lessons to suit each student’s unique learning style and academic goals. As a passionate and dedicated tutor with a Bachelor’s in Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa, I take a personalized and empathetic approach to teaching. I believe that every student learns differently, and my goal is to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that helps them feel confident and capable in their studies.
My teaching methodology focuses on understanding core concepts before moving on to application. I use real-world examples, visual explanations, and interactive exercises to ensure students don’t just memorize information — they truly understand it. I also emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for both academic and personal growth.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing key topics from previous sessions, identifying areas of difficulty, and setting clear goals for the day. I then introduce new material in a step-by-step manner, encourage active participation, and end with a brief recap or mini quiz to reinforce understanding.
