About Emma
I am very passionate about maths and helping people to achieve their goals, whether that is a short-term goal to achieve a certain level in maths or maths is a stepping stone to go on to the next part of their learning. I aim to make maths accessible to all by breaking topics down and explaining maths concepts in a way everyone can understand. Maths can be fun and I hope to pass this on. I hold a degree in psychology so this understanding of memory and the way the mind works helps ensure lessons are as beneficial as possible whilst also allowing me to understand the student's needs better.

All lessons are 1-2-1 and planned specifically for the individual (so fully tailored in every way) to help them achieve their goals. Throughout all sessions, I aim to develop and foster an enjoyment of learning as well as building self-confidence. I am very patient and like to keep a relaxed atmosphere as students learn best when they are comfortable. Lessons are very interactive as maths is a very practice-based subject. I have been tutoring maths for 15 years, originally employed by secondary schools as a maths specialist to tutor / teach their students and then self-employed once I had my own children. I work with both home-educated students and those attending school, as well as adults wishing to develop their maths. I tutor students from year 6 level up to and including GCSE level.
