About Sumaiya

The notion of consumers receiving over 5000 adverts and subliminal messages a day intrigues me. As a society, our opinions and beliefs are often a result of the influences from messages in the media. Studying media studies has enabled me to explore and critically analyse different forms of digital media. Being a student of media studies at university gives me the advantage to understand students' life and understanding of how they may approach their studies which then further allows me to adapt the teaching styles that will benefit them best. During my personal study time I took up many opportunities which are related to the concept of traditional media and contemporary media and this has allowed me to broaden my knowledge regarding digital cultures as a general concept.
