About Douaa

What motivates me most as a teacher is seeing children realise their potential. I understand that learning is about much more than achieving good results; it is also about building confidence, resilience and a positive mindset. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where children feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and believing in themselves.

I am known for being calm, creative and approachable. I enjoy making learning engaging through interactive activities, visual resources and personalised lessons that capture children's interests. My background in Business and Management has also given me valuable insight into communication, motivation and understanding how people learn and grow.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred around building confidence, fostering a love of learning, and creating a positive, supportive environment where children feel safe to take risks and succeed. As a qualified Primary Teacher (PGCE with QTS), I combine engaging teaching methods with strong pastoral support, helping children not only improve academically but also develop self-belief and resilience.

I tailor every lesson to the individual child, recognising that every learner has different strengths, interests and learning styles. Through clear modelling, guided practice, scaffolding and targeted questioning, I break down concepts into manageable steps while providing the right level of challenge to help children make meaningful progress. My lessons are creative, interactive and designed to keep children motivated and engaged.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes and follows a structured yet flexible format. Lessons usually begin with a short review of previous learning, followed by explicit teaching, guided practice and independent application. Throughout the session, I provide continuous feedback, encouragement and opportunities for reflection to build both knowledge and confidence.

My lessons are suitable for children across the primary age range, from KS1 to KS2. I offer support in all primary subjects, including Maths, English, Reading, Phonics, Writing, Grammar, Science and SATs preparation.
