About Luke
I am a Physics tutor with 9 years of experience and an MSc in Astrophysics. I have taught over 300 students from GCSE through to undergraduate Physics level. My lessons cover mechanics, electromagnetism, waves and optics, thermodynamics, quantum physics, nuclear physics, and astrophysics. I am passionate about helping students see Physics as a coherent and beautiful description of the natural world rather than a disconnected collection of formulas. My approach is systematic, patient, and always adapted to the student's level and specific examination requirements. I use clear physical intuition, real-world examples, and worked mathematical problems to develop both conceptual understanding and problem-solving technique. I have helped students improve their Physics grades significantly at A-Level and early university level through focused and consistent coaching. I work with students who love Physics and those who find it intimidating with equal enthusiasm. Let me help you develop a genuine and confident understanding of Physics.

My Physics lessons develop strong physical intuition alongside rigorous mathematical problem-solving ability simultaneously in every session. Every session begins with a review of key concepts and previously attempted problems to identify any remaining confusion before building new material. Mechanics topics are developed comprehensively from kinematics and Newton's laws through to circular motion, momentum, and gravitation with both clear conceptual explanation and full mathematical treatment. Electromagnetism sessions cover electric and magnetic fields, circuit analysis, Faraday's law, and electromagnetic wave behavior through worked examples and real physical applications. I use physical diagrams and dimensional analysis throughout to help students check their working and develop confidence in multi-step calculations. Quantum and nuclear physics are introduced with careful grounding in the experimental observations that motivate the theory before any mathematical formalism is applied. Astrophysics and cosmology topics are taught with genuine enthusiasm and appropriate depth. Past paper questions are integrated throughout every lesson to develop examination technique alongside content. I coach students specifically on the calculation structure, unit analysis, and significant figure conventions required for full marks. A targeted problem set and structured notes are provided after every session. My commitment is for every student to approach Physics examinations with genuine physical understanding and reliable mathematical confidence.
