About Serena

I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and a MSc in Physics. My passion lies in helping students see Physics not just as equations, but as a language that explains the world around us. I believe that the best way to learn is to connect abstract theories with everyday experiences. In my lessons, I use simple demonstrations and relatable examples to make concepts clear and memorable. Whether it’s boiling water to explain heat transfer, bouncing balls to illustrate energy conservation, or car braking to discuss forces and motion, I ensure students truly grasp the “why” behind the “what.” I also encourage students to take on conceptual challenges that sharpen critical thinking. Rather than memorising definitions, they learn to question, reason, and explore. This approach not only prepares them for exams and assignments but also builds a deeper appreciation for how Physics shapes daily life. Over the years, I have guided learners at different levels to see connections between theory and practice. My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing their curiosity grow with each session. About the lesson

My teaching approach in Physics focuses on building active conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation. I believe that students learn best when they connect theories to real-world situations. That’s why I use hands-on examples and relatable applications to make Newtonian mechanics, forces, motion, and energy conservation clear and engaging. I guide students step by step in applying the fundamental laws of Physics to solve practical problems with confidence. Whether it’s analysing motion, understanding equilibrium, or mastering energy transformations, I emphasise logical reasoning and clear explanations. Complex ideas are broken down into simple concepts so learners can absorb them without feeling overwhelmed. I work with learners of different styles, whether they are career re-aligners looking to strengthen their foundation or theorists eager to explore Physics at a deeper level. My focus is on helping them apply concepts effectively in assignments, exams, and real-life challenges. Every session is interactive, supportive, and tailored to individual goals. By the end of my lessons, students not only prepare well for exams but also develop the ability to see how the physical world works with clarity. My aim is to make Physics an enjoyable subject that sharpens thinking and problem-solving for life.
