About Alexis

I’m Alexis, a third-year Advanced Science student majoring in Physics, and I graduated in 2022 with an ATAR of 98. For the past three years, I’ve tutored a wide range of high school and first-year university students in math, chemistry, engineering, physics and literature, from those aiming for top-band results to those who feel completely “lost” in class. My style is calm, friendly and very structured: I specialize in breaking down tough concepts into clear, manageable steps and then connecting them directly to the kinds of questions you’ll see in exams and assignments. I care a lot about confidence as well as marks, so I’ll always check in with how you’re feeling, not just how you’re performing. You can expect someone patient, well-prepared, genuinely invested in your progress, and who will celebrate the small wins with you along the way!!

About the lesson

I run all my lessons online via Zoom, in a really relaxed and supportive environment. Sessions are usually 60 minutes, but I’m flexible; we can do shorter check-ins or longer exam-prep lessons when needed. Lessons can be recorded if you’d like to rewatch them, and cameras are always optional, no pressure at all!

During each lesson, I break concepts down step by step, then build up to exam-style questions so you feel confident, not overwhelmed. I tutor high school students (Years 7–12, incl. QCE/ATAR) and first-year university students in maths and physics. As a physics major with an ATAR of 98 and three years of tutoring experience, I focus on both understanding the “why” and mastering the “how” for questions and assessments.

All notes are neatly written in OneNote and shared with you immediately after each lesson. I also provide homework and extra practice questions completely free of charge. Between lessons, you’re welcome to message me for quick help with tricky homework problems. I’m very flexible with scheduling, there are no cancellation fees, and I’ll always do my best to fit in extra lessons or adjust times as your workload changes :)!
