About Ronan
I’m a dedicated guitar tutor with over 12 years of teaching and performing experience. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Guitar Studies, where I deepened my understanding of technique, theory, and musical expression. Guitar has always been more than an instrument to me—it’s a lifelong journey of creativity and personal voice. I’ve worked with students of all levels, from curious beginners to advanced musicians refining their craft. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether it’s learning their first chords or composing original music. I emphasize not just technical skill, but also how to feel and express through the guitar. As an active performer and composer, I bring real-world experience into every lesson. I share the tools and mindset needed to develop a confident musical identity. My approach blends structure with freedom, giving students the foundation to grow and the space to create. Above all, I believe music should be fun and fulfilling. I aim to inspire a genuine love of learning in every student. My teaching approach is designed to help every student unlock their unique musical voice. I believe in building strong fundamentals first—understanding chords, scales, and timing—so that creativity can flow freely. Whether you're new to guitar or an advancing player, I tailor lessons to suit your goals and musical interests.
I place strong focus on fingerstyle technique, helping students develop precision, tone, and control. We work on lead guitar phrasing by studying blues, rock, and melodic soloing to make your playing expressive and powerful. Improvisation is a big part of my lessons, encouraging students to create their own licks and explore new sounds.
Composition is equally important. I guide students to write their own music by understanding harmony, song structure, and storytelling through guitar. I support those who dream of playing heartfelt blues solos or rocking out on stage with soulful leads. My approach is hands-on, structured, but always open to creativity.
Lessons are interactive and engaging. I break down complex techniques into simple steps so students feel confident. Progress is steady, and each session builds on the last. Above all, I want you to enjoy the process and feel proud of your growth as a guitarist.
