About Amari

Hi! My name is Amari, and I’m a patient, encouraging, and dedicated tutor who enjoys helping children become more confident in their reading and writing abilities.

As a parent myself, I understand how important it is for children to have someone who will be patient with them, explain things in different ways, and encourage them when they become frustrated. Every child learns differently, and I believe tutoring should be personalized to the student rather than using the same approach for everyone.

I enjoy helping students strengthen their reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, writing, vocabulary, and overall English skills. I especially love helping children learn how to think through a question, explain their reasoning, organize their thoughts, and express themselves clearly in writing.

My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe making mistakes, asking questions, and trying again. I want every student to leave a lesson feeling like, “I can do this!”

I’m excited to work with students, meet them where they are, and help them build the skills and confidence they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to help students become stronger, more confident readers and writers while building the foundational English skills they need to succeed in school.

I teach reading, reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and writing in a patient, supportive, and engaging way. I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and are given explanations that make sense to them.

Lessons are personalized to each student’s age, grade level, learning needs, and current skill level. We may work on reading fluency, understanding what they read, identifying the main idea and supporting details, building vocabulary, spelling patterns, sentence structure, grammar, or developing stronger written responses.

I also focus on critical thinking and written expression, helping students learn how to explain their answers, use evidence from what they read, organize their thoughts, and communicate their ideas clearly.

My goal isn’t simply to help students finish their homework. I want them to understand why an answer is correct, develop skills they can use independently, and gain the confidence to approach reading and writing without feeling overwhelmed.

Whether your child needs extra support, wants to strengthen their skills, or simply needs a little more practice, lessons will be adapted to meet them where they are and help them grow from there.
