About Hyejin

My journey into teaching Korean began right here at home in the UK when my family members wanted to learn my native language

Originally from South Korea, I majored in Violin Performance and hold a Secondary School Music Teacher certificate. After spending years working as an orchestral musician and teaching music to students in schools, I married my British husband and moved to beautiful Wales, where we are now raising our lovely two year old son.

Three years ago, my husband and one of his relatives expressed a strong desire to learn Korean, so I started teaching them and discovered a deep passion for sharing my native language which now matches my lifelong love for the violin. Thinking of my son’s future, I continue to study and dedicate myself to teaching every single day.

Teaching a musical instrument requires an immense amount of patience, and I bring that exact same patience into my Korean lessons by guiding you step by step

About the lesson

Hi! I’m Hyejin, and I’m here to help you build a solid foundation and speak Korean with confidence and accuracy.

My lessons strike the perfect balance between structured grammar and real-life speaking practice. I believe that understanding grammar is essential for building correct sentences, so we will cover the necessary rules and structures clearly. However, we won't just stop at memorising rules. We will immediately put that grammar into practice through conversational exercises, pronunciation drills, and practical dialogue.

As someone who has taught musical instruments for years, I know firsthand that learning a new skill takes time and immense patience. I bring that exact same gentle patience and warm encouragement into my Korean lessons. I am a tutor who will always guide you step-by-step, patiently waiting for you to find your voice, and celebrating every small milestone with you.

I believe learning a new language should feel like a natural progression in a safe space, not a stressful lecture. I love creating a comfortable, encouraging environment where you can learn the rules thoroughly and practice speaking without ever being afraid of making mistakes.
