About Dhiya
Hello! My name is Dhiya, and I am an experienced tutor offering private lessons in Afrikaans and English. With a strong academic background and several years of tutoring experience, I am committed to helping students reach their full potential. What sets me apart as a tutor is my patient, adaptable, and results-focused teaching style. I believe every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand their strengths, challenges, and goals before tailoring each lesson to suit their needs. My approach to private tutoring is patient, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I believe that every learner has a unique way of understanding concepts, so I adapt my teaching style to make lessons engaging, clear, and effective. What makes me stand out as a teacher is my ability to simplify complex ideas and create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and grow at their own pace.
I am proficient in both Afrikaans and English, and I am able to teach in either language depending on the student’s preference. My lessons are designed to strengthen language skills, improve comprehension, and build confidence in both written and spoken communication.
In a typical lesson, students can expect a structured yet flexible session: we begin by reviewing previous work, then move on to focused practice with guided explanations, and end with a recap and strategies for independent improvement. I often use examples, exercises, and interactive methods to keep lessons dynamic and enjoyable.
My lessons are aimed at school learners of all levels who want to improve their Afrikaans or English skills, whether it’s grammar, vocabulary, writing, or exam preparation. I also welcome students who simply want to build confidence in everyday communication.
