About Ayanda

Hi, I’m Ayanda! I am a dedicated and friendly Math Lit tutor and University of Cape Town student who genuinely cares about my students doing well. In high school I received several awards for Math Lit and was always number one in my class. I’ve always had a passion for teaching and I used to help my siblings with homework at home, and my classmates would come to me for help with exams too. I make Math Lit easy to understand by using real life examples you can relate to, because that’s what helps it click. I’m interested in teaching because I truly want everyone to succeed and I believe with the right support and explanation, any student can improve and even enjoy Math Lit.

About the lesson

My goal is to help every student do their best in Math Lit and actually start enjoying the subject! I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach because everyone learns differently, some are visual, some are audio, so we’ll figure out what works best for you and go with that. In our lessons we’ll work through examples, past papers and exam tips step-by-step in a relaxed, no judgement space. I tutor high school Math Lit students at all levels, and I can teach in English, isiZulu and Sesotho. I achieved a distinction in Grade 12 and I’m currently doing Maths at university, so I know what it takes. Let’s work together and get that distinction!
