About Tessa
I am a passionate flute tutor with 7 years of teaching experience, having successfully mentored nearly 150 students. I teach flute across all levels and focus on complete musical development.
My lessons cover essential technical skills such as breath control, tone production, articulation, scales, and finger coordination. Alongside this, I incorporate rhythm training, sight-reading, and basic music theory to build well-rounded musicianship.
I believe in personalised instruction. I assess each student’s strengths and areas for improvement and design lessons that match their pace and goals.
One of my strongest qualities is my ability to maintain discipline while keeping lessons engaging and inspiring. I encourage consistent practice and provide clear guidance for improvement.
My aim is to nurture confident, technically skilled, and passionate flute players who develop a lifelong appreciation for music.

My flute teaching approach integrates technical training with overall musical development. I adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles so that students feel comfortable and engaged.
I begin with strengthening breathing techniques, posture alignment, and embouchure control. Once students develop stable tone production, I introduce finger drills, scale studies, and rhythm exercises. Gradually, we move to expressive elements such as phrasing and dynamic variation.
In addition to flute instruction, I teach music theory concepts including notation reading, tempo markings, time signatures, and basic harmony. This ensures that students gain complete musical knowledge. Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson content according to progress and goals.
Collaboration is encouraged through interactive discussions and shared musical decisions. I maintain a positive atmosphere where students feel supported and motivated. My goal is to nurture disciplined practice habits and long-term musical growth.
