About Atashna Hailey
I am a Computer Engineering student from National University Philippines. I am a consistent honor student and have ranked top of my class in math and science. At my university, I am part of an org that tutors struggling students in math and physics. I have always been willing to help others who may be struggling with lessons.
I aim to teach how to teach like a problem-solver. My goal is to make you excited to solve problems and find solutions. If you're willing to be curious and put in the effort, I will meet you with patience, creativity, and genuine care.

My Teaching Method & Techniques
I don't believe in rote memorization or simply "showing the answer." My approach is Socratic by guiding students through questions that lead them to discover solutions on their own.
Key techniques I use:
- Applying real-world connections to abstract topics
- I use visuals to illustrate my points through powerpoints
- Breaking down complex topics into smaller digestible part
- I adapt to my students learning style, each learner is different so I try to match my teaching style to what works best
A Typical Lesson Plan
- Quick check-in
- Warm-up and recap of previous lessons
- Introduce the new topic using visuals, real-life examples, and guided practice. I explain, then we solve together, then the student attempts one independently while I observe
- Practice & application, student works through problems, while I help if needed. I ask leading questions ("Why did you choose that step? What happens if we change this variable?")
- Wrap-up & summary where Student teaches me the main takeaway in their own words. We list a few important concepts to remember.
- Homework assignment, 3–5 tailored problems for next session, plus a quick reading or video suggestion for reinforcement.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
1. I am a student and I'm currently navigating rigorous engineering coursework, so I understand the pressure, deadlines, and mental blocks your child faces.
2. I emphasize curiosity over grades. Yes, grades improve, but my real goal is to reignite wonder. To make the student ask questions and seek out the answers for themselves.
3. I am patient and approachable, for me, no question is "dumb". If a student doesn't get it, I find 5 different ways to explain it until one clicks.
4. I customize my lesson for each student. I assess where you're struggling and build a personalized roadmap.
5. I bring engineering thinking into lessons, by looking at problems not as a daunting task to be solved, but as a an opportunity to exercise critical thinking and find enjoyment in finding solutions.
Who These Lessons Are For
Grade levels: Junior High School (Grades 7–10) and Senior High School (Grades 11–12)
Subjects: Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Basic Calculus) and Physics (Measurements and Conversions, Vectors, Kinematics, Projectile Motion)
Students who benefit most:
Those feeling "lost" or left behind in class
Those who want to get ahead and build confidence
Those preparing for college entrance exams
Those who are curious but need a guide to connect the dots
Not for: Advanced university-level engineering math (e.g., Differential Equations, Linear Algebra) – I can help with basics, but that's beyond my current scope.
Location: Strictly online for now, as my schedule cannot accommodate for ftf right now.
Recommendations

One of the best teacher I have ever met. She tutors her students very well and has a good humor making her the more relatable and comfortable professor out there. Reliable and an excellent professor indeed. I definitely recommend her
Highly recommend this tutor! They explain lessons clearly and patiently, making even difficult topics much easier to understand. I really appreciate how they take the time to make sure you actually understand the lesson instead of just memorizing it. Very approachable, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the learning process. Definitely a great tutor for anyone looking for someone who genuinely wants their students to improve! ️
