Deep Empathy & Listening: The best trainers are active listeners who "meet clients where they are". This means understanding the emotional barriers a client faces, such as fear of the gym or past failures, and providing the necessary support.
Adaptability: No "one-size-fits-all" plan works. You must be able to pivot on the fly if a client arrives tired, stressed, or with a minor injury, adjusting the session to provide value without overexertion.
