About Katy
Hi, I’m Katy! I’m a professional artist and experienced art tutor, born and raised in Hong Kong, now based in South London. I hold a BA in Visual Arts and was trained in contemporary Chinese painting. My teaching combines traditional brushwork techniques with modern creativity — perfect for students interested in sketching, watercolour, or mixed media. Whether you’re preparing for GCSE Art or just starting out, I’ll guide you with patience and encouragement. Lessons are fully tailored to your level and interests. I help students build confidence, develop skills, and find joy in making art. Let’s explore your creative potential together!

About the Lesson Each lesson is tailored to your level, goals, and interests — whether you're preparing for GCSE Art, building a strong foundation in sketching and watercolour, or mixed media. We’ll start by assessing your current skills and understanding what you enjoy most. From there, I’ll design step-by-step sessions to help you improve your technique, develop creative ideas, and express yourself confidently. Lessons can include observational drawing, colour mixing, composition, inking, and personal project support. You’ll learn in a calm, supportive environment with clear demonstrations and plenty of time for hands-on practice and feedback. I adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles — whether you prefer structure or freedom to explore. No matter your age or experience level, I aim to make each session enjoyable, meaningful, and creatively fulfilling.
