About Kumar
I am a dedicated Computer Science tutor currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of York. I hold a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Brunel University, where I also worked for over two years as an Associate Teaching Assistant, supporting students in subjects related to programming, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, I have two years of experience as a Software Engineer, working on projects ranging from embedded systems to full-stack web applications. My experience allows me to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications, ensuring my students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. I am passionate about making complex coding concepts accessible to students of all levels, from primary school to first-year university, by providing engaging, structured, and personalised lessons.

Lessons typically include a mix of theory, practical coding tasks, and problem-solving exercises to reinforce understanding. Lessons are typically 1 hour long but can adjust to student's needs. With over two years of experience as an Associate Teaching Assistant at university level and two years as a Software Engineer, I bring both academic expertise and industry knowledge to my teaching. I specialise in Python, Java, C++, C#, and web development and can guide students through coursework, projects, coding challenges, and professional software development practices. My lessons cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced learners, and are delivered in a structured but flexible format, allowing students to progress at their own pace. Whether you need help with university coursework, preparing for coding interviews, or mastering a new programming language, I ensure a supportive and engaging learning environment.
