About Emi

Hi, my name is Emi. I am a fifth-year medical student at University College London, and I also hold a Management BSc from Imperial College London. Alongside my studies, I have built up over six years of tutoring experience, working with students of a wide range of ages and abilities, from primary school through to GCSE level. My role is not just to prepare pupils for exams but to help them build lasting confidence, independent study habits, and a genuine enjoyment of learning. In every case, my approach is structured but adaptable. I prepare thoroughly for each lesson, breaking material into clear sections, but I also adapt in real time depending on the student’s needs on the day. Some sessions require drilling core content, others focus more on technique or building confidence. What remains constant is my commitment to ensuring that each student feels supported, challenged at the right level, and steadily progressing towards their goals.

About the lesson

A large part of my work has been dedicated to supporting pupils through the 11+ and ISEB pre-tests. I have guided students through every stage of these highly competitive assessments, including verbal and non-verbal reasoning, creative writing, mathematics, and reading comprehension. I have seen first-hand how demanding these processes can be, not only academically but also in terms of student confidence and resilience. My consistent focus has been on equipping pupils with both the knowledge and the exam technique needed to succeed. I have guided students through every stage of these highly competitive assessments, including verbal and non-verbal reasoning, creative writing, mathematics, and reading comprehension. I have also successfully prepared students for specific regional assessments, such as the 11+ Buckinghamshire exam, Slough Consortium Exams and the Sutton Eligibility Test. Many of my students have gone on to secure places at leading selective schools such as Westminster School, Haberdashers’ Girls’ School, Tiffin Girls’ School, St Edward’s School Oxford and grammar schools across Dorset. These outcomes are a source of great pride and reflect both the hard work of my students and the structured preparation we put in place together.
