About Joshua

As a recently graduated in Winter 2025 as a Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science, I offer a strong foundation in mathematics and logical problem solving. Throughout my studies, I have worked extensively with algebra, calculus, and programming concepts, and I enjoy helping others break down challenging topics into clear, understandable steps.

I understand how frustrating math and coding can feel when concepts move too quickly or are not explained clearly. Because of this, I focus on patience, structure, and clarity in every lesson. My goal is not just to help students complete assignments, but to help them build lasting confidence in their abilities.

As someone who has recently navigated these courses myself, I am familiar with common struggles and exam expectations, and I can provide practical strategies for improving performance and understanding.

About the lesson

As a Computer Science graduate, I offer structured and personalized tutoring in Math and introductory Programming for middle school, high school, and early college students.

For Math, I cover topics from foundational algebra through Precalculus and Calculus 1. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding so students do not just memorize formulas, but truly understand why methods work. Whether you need help preparing for exams, improving grades, or strengthening fundamentals, I break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps.

For Programming, I teach beginner friendly concepts in languages such as Python or Java, along with core logic and problem-solving skills. We will work on understanding variables, loops, conditionals, functions, and algorithmic thinking in a practical and approachable way.

My teaching style is patient, structured, and adaptive. I adjust to each student’s pace and learning style, and I encourage questions throughout the lesson. I also provide practice problems and step-by-step walkthroughs to reinforce understanding.

My goal is to help students build confidence and independence so they can approach future problems with clarity and strategy.
