About Jowene
I was teaching in Kinabalu International School in Sabah, Malaysia as a Mandarin Chinese Specialist Teacher, teaching across Foundation 1 to Year 8. My specialty is bringing fun learning classes to primary students which able them to love Chinese Language, enjoy learning session and master this useful language for both daily and IGCSE exam purpose. I graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University China in January 2012, holding a Bachelor Degree in Teaching Chinese as Second Language. I’ve been teaching since 2015 as a full time private tutor and lecturer at college.

My lessons are activity based. I believed in learning while playing, and this might be the most effective way of learning for Foreign Language Learners. I teach Mandarin to young adults focusing on speaking and listening to ensure they will be able to communicate and have some simple conversation with chinese when they are working. As for primary and secondary children, they will start of with listening and speaking, slowly by reading and writing.
