About Mustafa

I'm Dr. Mustafa Abbass. I earned my PhD in molecular and genetic toxicology at King's College London, I teach at the university level, and I've published peer-reviewed research. I tutor one-on-one from high school, AP and IB up to university level, including undergraduate and graduate biology, nursing microbiology, physiology and biochemistry.

My strength is making complex mechanisms intuitive through clear stories and diagrams while staying scientifically exact. When I use an analogy, I also tell you where it breaks down, so it never becomes a misconception on the exam. My Whiteboard Method gives you a simple study routine between sessions and shows exactly what you know cold and what you only recognize.

I'm patient, structured and straightforward about progress. I especially like working with students who feel stuck or have been told biology "isn't their thing." My goal is for you to understand the material well enough to explain it yourself, not just to memorize it for the test.

About the lesson

I tailor every lesson to your course and your exams. For AP and IB Biology, we work to the official framework and practice free-response questions until your answers are precise and complete. For university students, including general biology, cell and molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, physiology and biochemistry, as well as nursing and pre-health prerequisites, we follow your syllabus chapter by chapter, and I can build a prioritized review checklist for each exam.

We start by finding what's missing or shaky, fix those gaps first, and practice with real exam-style questions throughout. Multiple-choice and short-answer exams need different preparation, and I coach for both.

After every session you get a written session report that doubles as a revision guide:
• a clear summary of what we covered, ready to review before exams
• key concepts with one-line phrases to memorize
• self-study questions to check yourself from memory
• homework for the week, using my Whiteboard Method recall routine
• flashcard priorities, so you know what to drill first
• the plan for our next session

By the end of the semester you'll have a complete set of study notes built around your own weak spots.
