About Christopher
I am a materials chemist PhD student at Glasgow Uni with a Master's degree from Manchester. I'm a novice tutor (and my rates reflect this!) planning to start training to teach in September. While I lack teaching experience, I have massive practical experience in the chemicals industry as a synthetic chemist, a researcher working on semiconducting materials, and in the petrochemicals industry.
Before moving to Glasgow (and before pandemic-times) I've voluntarily taught 13-20 year old students in anything from sports and physical education, to clay-pigeon shooting, to aeronautical engineering!

As you know, I'm a postgraduate chemist with a Master's degree. I'm comfortable teaching chemistry (especially organic chemistry) all the way to Master's level. Beyond that, I'm well-versed in maths and physics up to Highers (or A-level), and comfortable with biology too (although I may need a bit of time to refresh my memory there!).
I try to structure lessons around examples and practice questions based on real world experiences. I don't see the value in retreading ground you've covered in the classroom already, and think it's much more beneficial to approach topics from a different angle that may be easier for some to understand than the general curriculum approach.
