About Sarah
I am a PhD student majoring in Music at the University of Auckland. Before I came to New Zealand for my PhD, I had been teaching piano and accordion in China for ten years. Not only am I a PhD student in music education, And I have also obtained Grade 8 certificate in Piano performance and Grade 8 certificate in Music Theory from The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music(ABRSM). In China, I have my own piano studio and have taught about 200 students who have taken ABRSM exams at all levels with a pass rate of 99%. My method of teaching is tailored to each child, according to their aptitude. Start with the child to inspire their interests, improve their skills and perfect their overall development as a person. Now that I am studying for a PhD in Music at the University of Auckland, I particularly hope to use my ideas and methods to help children in Auckland learn piano and music.
