About Adam

I am a Mathematics tutor with a PhD and over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have taught students across a range of levels, including GCSE, A-Level and university-level mathematics.

Alongside private tutoring, I have experience teaching at universities including Aston University, Imperial College London and Ulster University Qatar. This has given me extensive experience explaining challenging mathematical concepts to students with different abilities and learning styles.

I am passionate about helping students become more confident in mathematics. I particularly enjoy breaking down difficult topics into simple, understandable steps and helping students develop the problem-solving skills they need to tackle questions independently.

I offer one-to-one tuition so that every lesson can be tailored specifically to the student. Whether a student is struggling with the fundamentals, aiming to move up a grade, or targeting the highest GCSE or A-Level grades, I adapt my teaching accordingly.

I also hold an Enhanced DBS check and take a professional, reliable and supportive approach to tutoring.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, whether they are looking to improve their confidence, strengthen their understanding of key topics, or work towards a particular GCSE or A-Level grade.

Lessons are one-to-one, allowing me to identify gaps in understanding and focus on the areas where the student will benefit most. I aim to explain difficult mathematical concepts in a clear and intuitive way, rather than simply teaching students to memorise methods.

We work through carefully selected questions together, gradually building towards more challenging exam style problems. I also focus on exam technique, problem-solving skills and common mistakes that can cost marks.

Weekly homework is provided to reinforce what we have covered, and future lessons can be adapted based on the student's progress.

Above all, I want students to understand the mathematics they are doing and develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions independently.
