About Bushra
I am based in Christchurch and currently working at the University of Canterbury as a researcher/data scientist. My journey in academia began long before my PhD, when I worked as a lecturer teaching college and high school students. During my PhD and postdoctoral research, I continued teaching university students, which has been one of my greatest passions. I genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge, engaging with students, and helping them understand complex concepts in a clear and enjoyable way. Outside of teaching, I love exploring new places and traveling, which inspires me to bring fresh perspectives into my lessons.

I focus on building strong understanding and confidence in each student by adjusting my teaching style to their learning needs. My approach combines clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and regular practice so students can steadily improve and feel comfortable with the subject. I use simple examples first, then gradually move to more advanced problems once the basics are solid.
A typical lesson is usually one hour, but I can adjust the length depending on the student’s preference and study goals.
I have a PhD in Physics and more than 10 years of teaching experience, including working with university students, high-school learners, and students preparing for exams. I teach Maths, Physics and Chemistry at all levels, from primary and secondary school to NCEA, Cambridge/IB, and undergraduate university courses.
My lessons are suitable for students of all ages who want to improve their understanding, prepare for exams, strengthen fundamentals, or need support with assignments and coursework.
