About Praveen
I am a postdoctoral researcher in Biology at the University of Toronto Mississauga, specializing in plant science, molecular biology, and biochemistry. I completed my PhD in Plant Science from Western University, where my work focused on unraveling complex biosynthetic pathways in plants. Throughout my academic journey, I have been recognized with several scholarships and awards for research excellence. Beyond research, I am deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring. I have guided students at different levels — from high school to graduate studies — helping them understand biology concepts with clarity and confidence. Having studied and worked in both India and Canada, I bring a diverse perspective to teaching and adapt my lessons to suit each student’s learning style. I believe biology should feel exciting and relevant, so I connect theory with real-world scientific discoveries. I am a postdoctoral researcher in Biology at UTM with a PhD in Plant Science from UWO. My expertise spans molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics, with several years of experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in both classroom and research settings. My lessons are tailored to the student’s level — whether you are in high school, preparing for university entrance exams, or an undergraduate/graduate student looking to strengthen your understanding of core biology concepts. • Teaching Style: I focus on building clear conceptual understanding first, followed by problem-solving and application. I use real-world examples from cutting-edge research to make biology engaging and relevant. • Topics Covered: Cell biology, molecular biology, plant biology, physiology, genetics, biochemistry, biotechnology, and research methods. • Approach: Interactive discussions, visual aids (diagrams, pathway charts), and step-by-step explanations. For advanced learners, I also provide guidance on experimental design, data interpretation, and scientific writing.
