I have worked as a psychology professor for 20 years, have a BA in Sociology, and a MS and PhD in Psychology. I have taught and advised students from all backgrounds and of all skill levels and supervised student theses and dissertations.

My approach to tutoring is grounded in the same principles that guide effective teaching and psychological science: clarity, engagement, and evidence-based strategies. I focus on helping students not only understand material but also retain and apply it. I use active learning techniques such as guided questioning, real-world examples, and collaborative problem-solving to deepen comprehension.
I tailor my instruction to each student’s learning style—whether they benefit more from visual frameworks, discussion, repetition, or application. I also emphasize metacognitive strategies, helping students learn *how* to learn by improving study habits, critical thinking, and self-assessment skills. When relevant, I integrate research methods and empirical thinking to strengthen analytical reasoning.
I can support a wide range of subjects, including cognitive psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, research methods, and academic writing. I also tailor sessions for students who may need extra structure, confidence-building, or study skills development.
Overall, my goal is to make complex material accessible, engaging, and meaningful while helping students become more effective, independent learners.
