About Ronan

Hello! I am Ronan, a native English teacher with more than 10 years of experience teaching all levels and ages. I have prepared students for the Cambridge and Trinity exams, levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.

I have a degree in English and Linguistic Philology from the Polytechnic University of Nottingham and I have a Master's degree in Languages and Technology from the Polytechnic University of Valencia.

I specialize in teaching students who stutter and have just completed a doctoral thesis in which I investigate how anxiety can influence the process of learning English in students with stuttering. I also stutter, but I have achieved a high level of Spanish and have presented my research findings at several international conferences. I have also given talks at various events organized by the British Stammering Association and the Spanish Stuttering Foundation.

About the lesson

I am a specialist in language learning anxiety and my professional goal is to improve the experiences of students who stuttering in learning English. However, I also offer classes to students of any profile.

I believe that most classes and teachers do not take into account the needs of certain students, I like to address factors such as anxiety and self-esteem that can greatly influence the progress with the language are considered. In addition, my experiences as an English teacher, Spanish student and researcher on emotions in language learning have given me a lot and I try to take everything to the classes I teach.

I am a person who stutters and I have had to fight hard to overcome this difficulty and get a high level of Spanish. I feel I can empathize with any student who experiences difficulties in the process of learning a language.

Learning English is not easy, but you can do it!

I try to develop the classes according to your needs and objectives, I always try to talk and communicate a lot about topics of interest to you and be open about thing that cause us difficulties in the learning process. In that way, my goal is to increase your confidence in the use of language while classes are enjoyable but, at the same time, offer challenges.
