About Erfan

With a stellar undergraduate journey in chemistry, I achieved a GPA of 3.91/4.0, paving the way for my current pursuit of a Ph.D. at McGill University. Beyond my academic achievements, I bring a wealth of teaching experience to the table. With two years of private tutoring (chemistry, physics and math), 1.5 years as a teaching assistant (biochemistry and chemistry), and six months as a lab teaching assistant (organic chemistry lab), I've had the privilege of guiding both undergraduate and high school students toward academic success. My passion lies in creating an active and engaging learning environment that goes beyond conventional methods. I am committed to fostering a unique educational experience, ensuring that each student not only achieves their academic goals but also develops a genuine love for learning.

About the lesson

My teaching ideology is grounded in several fundamental principles, each contributing to a dynamic and enriching learning experience.

At the heart of my approach is the belief in active learning. I plan for an environment where students are not passive recipients but active participants in their education. Through engaging discussions, hands-on activities, and collaborative projects, students take an active role in constructing their knowledge.

Feedback is a cornerstone of my teaching philosophy. I prioritize providing constructive feedback that guides students towards improvement. By fostering an open dialogue for feedback, I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to address their weaknesses and build on their strengths.

I embrace the philosophy of continuous improvement. Learning is a journey, not a destination. I encourage students to adopt a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for development. Through reflection, adaptation, and a commitment to personal and academic growth, students embark on a path of continuous improvement.

While encouraging active engagement, I also emphasize the importance of solidifying theoretical understanding before diving into practical exercises. Mastery of foundational concepts equips students with the tools needed to excel in real-world applications. This strategic approach facilitates a seamless transition from theory to practice.
In combining these philosophies, I aim to create a vibrant, feedback-rich, and continuously evolving learning environment where students are not only well-versed in their subjects but also equipped with the skills for lifelong learning and success.
