About Faranak
I am a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering with a concurrent Master's in Computer Science, specializing in computational methods and scientific computing. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UC Santa Barbara, I've taught programming, mathematics, and engineering courses to undergraduate students. My academic background includes: - PhD research in computational physics and numerical methods - Experience teaching university-level MATLAB and programming courses - Advanced coursework in mathematics, physics, and computer science - Publications in computational methods and scientific computing I am passionate about helping students understand complex technical concepts by breaking them down into manageable components and connecting theory with practical applications. My teaching experience spans individual tutoring to large classroom instruction, allowing me to adapt my teaching style to each student's needs. Currently, I serve as a mentor for the American Physics Society and Women in STEM, demonstrating my commitment to education and student success.
