About Gabriel
I am a philosophy PhD student at the University of Southampton with a Master's degree in Philosophy and French literature.
I started academia with preparatory school in Nancy before doing a double undergraduate degree in Philosophy and French literature. I did my Master at UT Austin, in Texas, before studying law for a year in Lyon.
I then chose to go back to philosophy with a PhD in art philosophy in Britain, at Southampton University.
My goal is to become a university professor, and teaching is my passion.

I believe in a practical and patient approach to language. French is a hard, tedious language, with a lot of rules, vocabulary, and it sometimes contradicts itself.
That's why I believe that practising real-life cases before learning the rules is the best way to go.
My lessons start with oral practice of a simple conversation for a simple situation, then starting from that conversation, we study the rules that were applied in it, in order for the student to have a practical example in mind when applying this rule to real-life cases or exams.
Between each lesson I give students a list of either vocabulary or verbs to learn for the next lesson, as they will be involved in it.
I believe that taking time to also chat, and understand the struggles of each student and adapting my lessons with regard to said issues is also really important. French is already an arrogant language, no need for an arrogant teacher
I'm looking forward to working with you all!
