About Jack
I am a professional photographer with a university degree in photography and a diverse, decade-long career in the industry. Over the past 10 years, I have shot commercial advertising for homeware brands, mastering the technical precision required for high-end commercial work.
Alongside my commercial practice, I have extensive experience as a live music photographer, capturing high-energy performances for legendary artists such as Neville Staple of The Specials and Sophie Lloyd (guitarist for Machine Gun Kelly).
This blend of commercial discipline and fast-paced event experience gives me a unique perspective on the craft. My teaching style is completely fun, engaging, and practical. I don't believe in boring, dry lectures. Instead, we dive straight into what actually makes a good photo—exploring composition, framing, and light—while tailoring every single session to exactly what you want to get out of the class. My main mission is to break down how to shoot in manual mode so you can finally take total control of your camera with confidence.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, which is the perfect sweet spot to learn a new concept without feeling overwhelmed. To make sure the skills stick, I love to set fun, practical tasks during our time together, which we will then review side-by-side so you can see your progress in real-time.
I hold a university degree in Photography, which gives me a rich background in both the technical mechanics of a camera and the creative theories behind striking imagery. As your tutor, I bring a supportive and energetic approach to the virtual classroom.
These lessons are built for beginners and intermediate hobbyists of all ages who want to stop relying on "Auto" mode and start creating intentional, professional-looking photographs. Whatever your goals are, we will smash them together at your own pace.
