About Edmund

I enjoy showing you real-world applications of what we are studying. In our lessons, we will draw diagrams and break problems down into bite-size steps, and I will train you to ask yourself helpful questions such as “What do I already know?”, “Is this a sensible answer?” and “Did I expect those units?”. I am used to sympathetically coaching young people in unfamiliar skills, having also been the principal teacher for a university folk dance club for five years. I have three years' experience conducting tutorials in Materials Science at Cambridge University, having myself studied Natural Sciences there, including Physics and Chemistry. In 2018, I taught the Maths and Physics component of the NCC International Foundation Programme for Engineers (of around GCSE/A-level level) at the Star Exeter language school, and since then I have tutored science and maths independently. Feel free to contact me even if you are studying for a different qualification or an unusual scientific topic - I have helped people studying ophthalmic dispensing and non-destructive testing as well as school science / maths, and may well be able to help you too. About the lesson

I use an online whiteboard we can both edit. We can paste in questions to annotate, draw diagrams and type formulas. The notes remain accessible outside the lesson, and will stay up until we agree to save and clear the board.

Contacted Edmund for my partner who is currently doing a natural sciences degree at university and needed a little extra help with the maths elements.

I cannot praise Edmund enough, he is a great tutor and conveys information well during his sessions. I must say it is really impressive how knowledgeable Edmund is and continues to impress my partner weekly. Would honestly have no hesitation in recommending him.
