About Jordan
I’m a Physics graduate from the University of Auckland and currently studying towards a Master’s in Medical Physics at the University of Canterbury.
I’ve always enjoyed maths and physics, and I really like helping students get to the point where something that seemed difficult finally clicks. Maths and physics can feel pretty overwhelming when something hasn’t made sense yet, so I try to break things down simply, explain them in different ways, and work at the student’s pace. The aim is to build confidence as well as understanding.
Outside of study and tutoring, I’m into ultra running and spend most of my spare time with my young daughter. I’m pretty relaxed and approachable, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about getting things wrong.

I like to keep lessons relaxed, practical and focused on actually understanding the problem rather than just memorising formulas. I usually work through concepts step by step, then use examples and practice questions to build confidence.
Lessons are usually an hour, but I’m flexible depending on what the student needs. I can also provide extra practice questions or homework to work through after the lesson if that’s helpful.
I can tutor intermediate and secondary school students, including students working towards NCEA or Cambridge exams.
