About Thomas

At A level I achieved A* in Maths, Physics and Chemistry and I also obtained grade 9s in all of my GCSE subjects. This means that I have a good understanding of how to prepare and perform well in exams and I am eager to share this with others.
I was employed as a gymnastics coach from 2017 to 2020 demonstrating my ability to teach and communicate well and I know this is something that I really enjoy.
I have been tutored in the past and felt as though the tutors cared little for me and I know this can be hard. I can therefore promise I will work hard to ensure that students gain a good understanding and feel confident with the subject matter. I am prepared to commit time outside of the tutorials so that I am ready to help.

About the lesson

I want to do everything I can to help students feel confident in their subject.
I have access to my extensive notes from all levels of my learning, so I am very well prepared to teach students and help them to learn the content.
My physics degree at Oxford has also given me lots of experience of how to approach questions and so I am able to help students work through past papers and gain confidence about sitting exams. I would ask students to attempt some questions in between our meetings that we could review together. This is how tutorials are run at Oxford and it’s a great way to learn.
I would suggest hour long tutorials, but I am happy to extend sessions if it would be helpful.
